We do not play our songs off of "Kazaa".
All of our songs come from original CD's that are encoded to a file on the
computer called MP3. This is way to create CD quality music while optimizing the
maximum amount of space on our hard drives. This creates an extensive library of
songs that can easily dwarf an average DJ's CD collection.
The computer does not
"crash".
A common question being
asked today is what happens if the computer fails to perform properly, AKA
"crash". Well we would be a bit disingenuous if we said that our
computers don't crash. There is no such thing as a trouble free electronic
device. Everything including CD players are eventually going to go down
every now and then. We just approach it the way we would any other piece of
equipment, with proper maintenance and back up precautions. We ALWAYS bring a
professional CD deck and spin CD and MP3 seamlessly. We use a well programmed
professional piece of software that has not "crashed" to this day. If
it ever did the party would continue and the partygoers would never know
anything happened.
The PC is not hooked up to
the internet.
Although many other DJ's make
it a practice to hook their DJPC's up to the internet however we do not
participate in this action. The main reason we don't is that anytime a
computer is connected to the internet the PC can be opened up to a lot of
unnecessary security risks. These risks can eventually lead to a host of
problems causing our PC equipment to become unstable and therefore unreliable.
All of our music is legitimate and stored on local disc drives so there is
really no connect to the internet anyway. Many of the DJ's that connect to the
internet from the job site are usually downloading copyrighted illegally.
Here are a few benefits to using this
media:
-
Instantly find songs
-
Will always be the intended song the
DJ wanted.
-
Larger music libraries: unlimited
songs
-
Makes the DJ more efficient enabling
him to be more interactive with partygoers
-
The sound quality is great!
-
Setups are cleaner and more compact
-
MP3's are less likely to fail than
CD's: No smudges or scratches ever!
-
Songs are less likely to skip than on
CD due to the computer's massive buffering power.
-
More effects and different ways to mix
the club music
-
Last but not least: It looks cool!
